IGHC Speakers will Highlight Sustainability and Personnel Opportunities

The 2024 IATA Ground Handling Conference provides an opportunity for industry figures to discuss and implement standards, policies and procedures.

Organizers at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have announced details regarding its line-up of distinguished speakers.

Taking place in Reykjavík, Iceland from May 7-9 and hosted by Icelandair, the 36th IATA Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) will feature numerous subject matter experts on topics ranging from sustainability to personnel recruitment and retention as well as investments to ensure long-term financial stability within the ground support industry.

“The event will feature a diverse lineup of industry speakers, including Willie Walsh, IATA’s director general, and Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair,” IATA officials say. “Other notable speakers include Atilla Korkmazoğlu, president of ground handling and cargo at Celebi and ASA chair; Philipp Joeinig, CEO of Menzies Aviation; Dr. Archana Arcot, chief people officer at Unifi; and Monika Mejstrikova, IATA’s director of ground operations.”

Other anticipated speakers and presenters include Menzies Aviation’s Jonathan Hankin, Allen Energy’s Rebecca Schnack, Jeroen Jaartsveld of KLM, Sarah Bahlinger from Royal Schiphol Group, Saunon Malekshahi from Moonware, Hactl’s Benny Siu, EASA’s Adina Szonyi, Ariaen Zimmerman at ASA, Iva Pluhackova from IATA, Adam Sider of SGS, Claudius Kuhnert from Lufthansa and more.
