Like a lot of children, Jeremiah Gerald was interested in flying and aviation when he was growing up. What sets him apart from other children is he learned the hard way it’s not something anyone can just do.
“The only bone I’ve ever broken in my body is my collar bone and that’s because I thought I could fly as a child,” he said. “I jumped off a roof in my Super Man outfit and found out pretty quick that I couldn’t fly.”
Childhood incident, aside, Gerald went to Louisiana Tech University where he studied to be a pilot.
Gerald launched his career with Continental Airlines in 2001 while working on his professional aviation degree. He landed his first airport role as an operations supervisor at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (GPT), later moving on to serve as the airport’s director of air service and business development.
In 2012, he entered the private sector as vice president of business development for Thanks Again, an airport centric-loyalty coalition provider.
Gerald joined Sixel Consulting in 2014 as marketing and regional development manager. He’s responsible for developing strategic marketing initiatives, air service development programs and comprehensive branding campaigns for client airports nationwide.
Gerald currently is responsible for managing marketing, branding and/or social media projects for College Station/Easterwood Airport (CLL), Killeen Fort-Hood Regional Airport (GRK), Meridian Regional Airport (MEI), Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport (PIB), Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM), Tallahassee International Airport (TLH), and Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB).
He continuously volunteers his time for various ACI-NA and AAAE events and conferences. Most recently, he has served on the conference planning committee for the 2016 AAAE Digital Media Summit.
