As a child Fabio Nascimento had a passion about airplanes and the dream to be a high level professional within the aerospace segment.
His father, Antonio do Nascimento, has been his mentor. From him he learned about focus, proactivity, productivity, discipline, and respect.
He started his career at LATAM Airlines and spent 8.5 years in various maintenance and quality roles. Next he worked at UTC Aerospace Systems as operations manager in the commercial aircraft aftermarket, He was responsible for the Aerostructures and Actuations business units, new product introductions, and facilities, acting to reduce turnaround time and costs on repairs and overhauls, eliminating waste along the repair chain, and targeting the increase of customer and employee satisfaction. He was part of the project team that re-located UTC Aerospace Systems from San Carlos to Atibaia within Sao Paulo state, from a 300 to 3,000 square meters facility. Unfortunately in 2015, the company decided to close the operations in Brazil. He started working for APS in January of 2016 as general manager and he is responsible for the local P&L, leading a multifunctional team of operations, business development, supply chain, human resources, accounting, sales, customer service, quality, training, and continuous improvement. He is an ANAC, EASA and DIRMAB accountable manager for Aircraft Propeller Service, Brazil.
His education includes a master's degree at FIA – Administration Institute Foundation (Brazil), international MBA at Ohio University (Athen/USA), and Getulio Vargas Foundation (Brazil) in a shared program where he could do part of the executive development program in U.S., MBA at Getulio Vargas Foundation (Brazil), and production engineering at UNICEP – Central Paulista University. Advanced training includes master of science in business administration strategy (ongoing – plans to conclude by 2019), international executive MBA in strategic business leadership, MBA in projects management, production engineering, and aircraft maintenance technician. He is part of the PMI (Project Management Institute) association and is certified as PMP – project management professional. He is also part of the Brazilian Engineering Council CREA/SP.

Prior to opening, Fabio was instrumental in transitioning the team from UTC Aerospace Systems to APS after APS purchased the site in late 2015. Nascimento's short-term goal is to work hard to achieve the APS vision which is to grow APS Brazil to a site capable to generate USD 20MM per year of revenue by 2020. Medium-term goal is to have an international experience within the company. His personal objective is to conclude his master's degree by 2019 and learn another language rather than the ones he speaks (Portuguese and English), maybe French.
