GWBAA Announces Keynote for 14th Annual Safety Standdown
The Greater Washington Business Aviation Association (GWBAA) is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for the 14th Annual Safety Standdown will be Robert Agostino, Director, Flight Operations, Group Holdings Aviation. The event will be held on March 26, 2020, at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, Virginia.
Mr. Agostino is a recipient of the Dr. Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation award as well as several other NBAA safety awards. He was selected for the 2003 Laureate Award the 2007 Aviation Week and Space Technology Laureate Award. The first recipient of the Business & Commercial Aviation Vision Award, he has also received commendations from the FAA, US Navy, and the FBI for his pioneering work in aviation safety. A nine-time world record holder, Agostino’s career totals more than 40 years of corporate flight operations.
Other agenda highlights include Sheryl Clarke, Director of Safety, Jet Linx, discussing “System Safety from the Top Down.” Clarke will share lessons learned from two accidents and how to incorporate them into a safety culture. Also speaking will be Paul Lewandowski, Chief Inspector, LNK, Duncan Aviation.
This year’s Hot Topics Panel will address issues such as Single Pilots Ops, Fuel Contamination and the latest on Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC).
