Concorde Battery Corp.'s portable BC-5000 battery capacity tester is intended for use by any maintenance facility to test airworthiness and capacity for 12- and 24-volt lead acid aircraft batteries. Cables and quick disconnect are standard. The metal case weighs 10 pounds and measures 12 inches long by 9 inches wide and 10 inches high with an insulated handle attached to the top. Appropriate for field testing or shop operations, the BC-5000 accommodates a range of batteries with capacities from 10-50 AH. With maximum battery input voltage at 28.0v DC and minimum battery input voltage of 9.0v DC for 12-volt batteries EPV is set at 10v DC, and 20v DC for 24-volt batteries. Constant current loads adjustable in 1A steps (+/-0.5 ADC) incorporates automatic over temperature protection. An audio system signals when the capacity test is complete.
