Capt. David E. Koss, U.S. Navy (retired), will be joining Million Air Austin FBO as the general manager.
Koss graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Physics and later earned his master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. His distinguished career as a professional aviator includes receiving his Naval Aviation wings of gold in March of 1995 and serving in various operational strike-fighter squadrons, such as VFA-87, VFA-14, TOPGUN, and the Blue Angels.
Throughout his career, Koss accumulated over 3,700 hours in F/A-18 aircraft, executed over 740 carrier arrested landings, and completed six international deployments. Notably, he led the first Navy strikes into Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. His leadership roles included commanding Strike Fighter Squadron Fourteen, the Blue Angels, the NROTC unit at the University of Texas, and Strike Fighter Wing Pacific.
Koss has been recognized for his exceptional service with numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit (three awards), Bronze Star for heroic achievement in a combat zone, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Combat V (two awards), and the Strike Flight Air Medal (four awards), among others.
In his role as general manager, Captain Koss will lead and oversee the success and operations of the Million Air Austin team, building on Million Air’s reputation and customer engagement at Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
