Jan. 05--TUPELO -- Two former administrators at Tupelo Regional Airport who sued their bosses will get their days in court in 2013.
Former Tupelo Regional Airport Executive Director Terry Anderson and former operations director Reid Dawe will have their cases heard within a week of each other before U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills in federal court in Oxford.
Anderson's case is scheduled to be heard at 9:40 a.m. on April 8. The trial is expected to last four days, with 10-15 witnesses coming to the stand.
Dawe's trial is a week later, at 9:40 a.m. on April 15. It's expected to last two to three days, with eight to 12 witnesses, along with expert testimony from two people.
Anderson was fired by the Tupelo Airport Authority in December 2009 after the board said it had lost confidence in him. Dawe resigned in October 2010, saying he was forced to take a pay cut and was pressured into quitting.
The men filed a federal suit together in January 2010, alleging that their rights were violated under the First and 14th Amendments as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
In October, the court agreed to the airport authority's motion to separate the cases, essentially splitting the case in two.
Both men are asking for monetary damages from mental anxiety, stress and loss of income.
