Gov. Walker Approves $1.3 Million Project At Dane County Regional Airport

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 25 -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation issued the following news release: Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,368,421 design project for a new maintenance building at the Dane County Regional Airport.

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,368,421 design project for a new maintenance building at the Dane County Regional Airport.

David Montesinos, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the new building is needed to store and maintain the airport's snow removal equipment. The current facility is outdated and does not allow for the proper storage and maintenance of the equipment.

Design work is expected to be completed by the summer of 2012.

FUNDING BREAKDOWN

State = $34,210

Dane County = $34,211

Federal Aviation Administration = $1,300,000

Dane County Regional Airport consists of three paved runways, parallel taxiways, aircraft parking ramps, a terminal building, parking facilities and an FAA control tower.
