GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (May 19, 2014) – Airbus Helicopters Inc. (AHI) is hosting a U.S. Customer Safety Symposium dedicated to highlighting top safety issues in the industry and allowing customers to share their ideas and solutions.

The two-day conference begins today at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

AHI leadership, customers and industry experts will discuss helicopter safety, including safety management systems, flight data management and technological innovations. Various mission segments such as air medical, law enforcement and corporate will be represented.

“We want to understand the biggest challenges facing our customers in the operating environment,” said Lindsay Cunningham, senior manager of aviation safety at AHI. “We want to look at the big picture: man, machine and environment, and seek better ways to support our customers, allowing them to operate more safely and efficiently.”

AHI is committed to achieving safety goals set by the International Helicopter Safety Team, which aims to reduce helicopter accident rates.

“As an industry, we have already made significant improvements,” Cunningham said. “Airbus Helicopters Inc. would like to see an even greater reduction in accidents. To do so, we believe manufacturers and operators must strengthen their partnership in this area.”
