Aspen Avionics’ Evolution Displays Compatible with Garmin’s GDL 88 Transceiver and GTX 345 Transponder

Aspen Avionics has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to interface its Evolution Primary and Multi-function displays with Garmin’s GDL 88 dual-band ADS-B datalink transceiver.

Sun ‘n Fun, Lakeland, FL:  Aspen Avionics (Hangar C) announced today it has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to interface its Evolution Primary and Multi-function displays with Garmin’s GDL 88 dual-band ADS-B datalink transceiver.  Additionally, the interface to Aspen displays from the Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B datalink transponder is planned to be available by the end of 2016. 

“With ADS-B compliance rapidly approaching, aircraft owners are looking for options that provide value-added weather and advanced traffic information at a price that is affordable and, that will work with multiple display options,” said Mark Ferrari, vice president of sales and customer support at Aspen Avionics. “This interface clearly addresses those needs.”  

The cost for the software to unlock these functions for either the GDL 88 or the GTX 345 is $795, and can be installed at any Aspen Avionics authorized dealer.
