Halifax Stanfield Proudly Hosts Altitude East Conference
Senior executives from major airlines and airports from across North America have spent the last two days at the biennial Halifax-based conference, Altitude East. Hosted by Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Altitude East was held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel from Tuesday evening until today. Organizers were honoured to host the largest Altitude East conference to date, with over 140 delegates in attendance.
“Altitude East is Atlantic Canada’s leading air access, airport and tourism forum for air transportation professionals in the areas of business development, marketing, sales and non-aeronautical revenue,” says Halifax International Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Joyce Carter. “This conference focused on helping delegates succeed in an extremely competitive and ever-changing environment.”
Organizers of Altitude East worked diligently to provide a platform for attendees to engage, connect, grow and find opportunities to work together for common goals Following this notion, the theme of this year’s conference was ‘Geared for Growth.’ “This theme was strategic as our industry has all the ingredients required to grow. We have the opportunity for growth in tourism, growth in trade and growth in air transportation,” says Carter.
During the conference, delegates took part in strategic face-to-face meetings, engaging and educational keynote and panel discussions and, for the first time ever, hot topic table discussions. The social networking also provided an opportunity to experience Nova Scotia’s legendary hospitality.
This year’s conference would not have been the exceptional event it was without the generous support of many partners and sponsors, including Transport Canada, Air Canada, Aer Rianta International, Irving, St. John’s International Airport, Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport, HMS Host, Charlottetown Airport Authority, Fredericton International Airport Authority, Port of Halifax, Swissport, WestJet, Tourism Nova Scotia, InterVISTAS, Metalsmiths Sterling, Park’N Fly, eh&a Management Consulting, Gander International Airport Authority, Halifax Gateway, Saint John Airport Authority, AirTrav Inc., Bullfrog Power, Liquid Assets and Atlantic Canada Airports Association.
