As director of communications, Erin Burns is responsible for marketing, communications and public relations for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. “I enjoy the idea that I get to find ways or opportunities to make the travel experience better for our passengers,” she said. “Sharing information that will make their travels a little less stressful, whether that’s marketing a product that they didn’t know about that would make things a lot easier for them, providing new information on flights and when it comes to the public information side of what I do and marketing, it’s the idea that I get to learn all aspects of the operation - I get to kind of have a front row seat in what all these very smart, very hard working people in the airport are doing and I get the opportunity to tell their story. I get to break down these very complex concepts and make it easy for the public to understand so that they get a glimpse into what makes these airports work and how that in turn can make their experience a little bit easier in a variety of ways.”
Burns holds a bachelor’s degree in mass media arts from Clark Atlanta University and a master’s degree in graphic communications from Clemson University. She currently serves as a Young Professional on the ACI-NA MarComCX Committee Steering Group.
