Zachary Burch is committed to engaging the public to explain the important role the Naples Airport and aviation industry plays in the local community.
It’s a tremendously exciting and interesting industry,” he said. “There are new things, new people, new aircraft and new issues every day. That newness changes day-to-day so you’re never going to get bored or complacent.”
Burch has led the Naples Airport Authority’s vibrant public outreach program, spearheading a variety of multifaceted initiatives. In his position, he fosters community engagement in important public-facing projects such as the airport’s voluntary federal Part 150 noise study while also leading airport tours for schoolchildren and championing internal communications. He represents the airport at neighborhood events like the City of Naples Trunk or Treat, holiday parades and beach clean-ups.
Burch has led more than 125 public presentations and events since joining the airport authority in 2020. He has also implemented new ways of connecting with the public including informal public meetings called “Plane Talk” and the creation of the airport’s presence on Facebook and Instagram.
Burch listens to his neighbors’ concerns, and solicits useful public feedback that enables the airport authority to complete projects that best reflect and improve the region. His interactions with the public put him at the forefront of complex and high-profile issues, but it is his calm demeanor and deep understanding of the issues that enable Burch to connect with residents.
He serves on numerous industry groups including as Vice-Chair of the Florida Airport’s Council (FAC) Noise Abatement & Community Affairs Committee and as a member of the FAC State Affairs Committee. He also serves as a member of the Airport’s Council International (ACI-NA) Marketing, Communications & Customer Experience Committee and the ACI-NA Airport Marketing Working Group.
