Eric Lewandowski, 2020 AMT 40 Under 40 Award Winner

Oct. 21, 2020
Chief Operating Officer, ETI Tech, Englewood, OH, 37 Years Old

As a young boy, Eric Lewandowski was gifted a glossy, hardcover book that showed pictures and stories of early fighter aircraft. He was captivated by the idea that an assembly of a group of parts could create a “flying machine” that could protect our country. Fast forward to adulthood, he is still fascinated by military aircraft — now he is the chief operating officer of ETI Tech and its sister company Starwin Industries — two companies which focus on manufacturing small batches of maintenance parts largely for legacy military aircraft. In this role he leads all aspects of organic growth, including the day-to-day operations and the full execution of the strategic plan.

Lewandowski was previously a senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Simon Group Holdings and was a director within KPMG’s strategy consulting group.

He holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BS from Bryant University. Additionally, he is a current member of the Ohio Aerospace & Aviation Council, was previously an executive board member of a local Boys & Girls Club and have held numerous professional licenses, including FINRA Series 7, 79 and 63 financial licenses.

As part of his prior strategy consulting experience working with large manufacturing businesses, Lewandowski received awards across several different companies. While working at KPMG, he managed consulting case teams which won KPMG’s national Engagement of the Year Award on two different occasions. Separately, at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he was a recipient of two Chairman’s Awards — the company’s “Top Gun” award and the top honor for exceptional performance.

“My experience is a mix of academic and experienced-based training,” he mentioned. “I believe that both are important in developing a balanced understanding of an aerospace manufacturing business. On the experienced-based side, I gained a ton of experience in my current role at ETI Tech as well as working as a strategy consultant in a prior role.

Lewandowski, who belongs to the Ohio Aerospace & Aviation Council and has attended events with the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association, shares his knowledge with the broader aerospace industry through a variety of publications. “Whether discussing the state of the aerospace industry or sharing ETI Tech’s strategic playbook, through articles in publications such as Aviation Week, Dayton Business Journal, Mergermarke, and others, I have tried to contribute to thought leadership in the aerospace industry,” he said. As for the future, Lewandowski plans to continue to grow as an executive leader in the aerospace and defense space.
