Sep. 5—A plane crash early Monday afternoon killed one person near Columbia Airport, the Tuolumne CA County Sheriff's Office told a local news website.
The small craft went down in the 23000 block of Seminole Drive, in the flight path about half a mile north of the runway, mymotherlode.com said.
The person who died was the only occupant, spokeswoman Ashley Boujikian of the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office told the news site.
The plane was a single-engine Barnow Barry Vari EZE, spokeswoman Eva Lee Ngai of the Federal Aviation Administration said by email to The Modesto Bee. It crashed at about 12:10 p.m.
