Paris — The world's largest aircraft manufacturer Airbus delivered more commercial jets in May than in any other month since the beginning of the year, despite a recent parts shortage.
A total of 63 aeroplanes were delivered to their customers, Airbus said in Toulouse on Wednesday.
In April, the European planemaker handed over 54 aircraft to its customers; in March it was 61.
However, Airbus is far from meeting its annual target of 720 planes. In the first five months, Airbus delivered 244 commercial jets and thus only a good third of the annual target.
Meanwhile, in May, the group took in orders for 17 new planes but also had to deal with 17 cancellations.
