U.S. Customs and Border Protection Orders Additional Aircraft from SNC
Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, was awarded a contract valued at $48,304,434 for two additional Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, the MEA aircraft provide detection, tracking and surveillance operations in regions where terrain, weather and distance pose significant obstacles to border security operations.
SNC has been the prime systems engineer and integrator for the MEA fleet since 2009 and has delivered 21 aircraft as of February 2021. The new contract brings total MEA fleet orders to 29 aircraft.

The MEA aircraft, a variant of the company's SNC Scorpion aircraft, is a fully certified, highly-missionized version of the King Air 350/360, equipped with a sophisticated array of active and passive sensors, technical collection equipment and satellite communications capabilities. It provides integrated multi-role special mission services to CBP and is capable of carrying out a wide range of missions.
The twin turboprop aircraft platform leverages more than 15 years of SNC’s King Air modification and integration heritage and 800,000+ hours of operational experience on special mission platforms for a wide array of government and military customers.
