Air Canada Signs Five Year Slide and Inflatable Maintenance Contract with AJW Technique
Air Canada has further cemented its partnership with AJW Technique, the Quebec based component MRO provider, with a renewed five year contract for slide and inflatable maintenance.
The contract underlines the focus that AJW has placed on building its repair business in North America and its initiative to create specialist modules of contracted repair service that supplement its wide-ranging ATA Chapter capabilities. AJW Technique have been providing component overhaul and repair support to the Air Canada fleets in its facility in Montreal for the past three years and this contract covers both Air Canada and Sky Regional aircraft.
“We won the original contract to provide slide and inflatable maintenance to Air Canada in 2013, just one year after we opened the AJW Technique facility” says Gavin Simmonds, General Manager. “I am delighted for the team that Air Canada is pleased with our complete service and has chosen us for the longer term, we see this as a further evolution of our relationship.”
“AJW Technique has processed over 1,000 slides and slide rafts for our Airbus, Boeing 767 and Embraer 190 fleets totalling 166 aircraft”, says Richard Steer, Vice President, Air Canada Maintenance and Engineering. “Air Canada’s Supply Chain Team recognises that their drive to lower Direct Maintenance Costs for their operator customers makes a real difference.”
Simmonds adds that the continuation of this contract points at the broader success of the AJW Group to building a flourishing MRO in record time. “These results are testimony to AJW’s focus on the provision of integrated aviation support services to transform efficiency.
“We are expanding our repair scope across different platforms, and driving the development of innovative partnerships with the OEMs to benefit airline customers. Keeping units on wing longer and minimizing aircraft downtimes allows airlines to increase their margins whilst maintaining flight price satisfaction. This is the guiding principle behind AJW Technique’s operational strategy and it works.”
AJW currently supports 69% of global fleet operators with appropriate Airbus and Boeing aircraft types and now has over 1,300 aircraft under contract providing operators of all sizes with wide and flexible component coverage and repair services. With more than 1,000 customers in 117 different countries, AJW is a proven partner for airlines and MRO organisations requiring fully integrated support solutions to help achieve competitive advantage.
