Bombardier Announces Appointment of Stan Younger as Leader of Aircraft Service Centre Network
Bombardier today announced that Michael McQuay, who currently leads the company's Aircraft Service Centre network, will retire after 40 years in aviation, effective May 2012. He will be succeeded by Stan Younger who assumes the Service Centre network leadership role effective October 9, 2011. Messrs. Younger and McQuay will work closely together in the transition period over the coming months.
Mr. Younger joins Bombardier with more than 20 years of experience in aircraft product support, in-depth technical knowledge of aerospace products and an intense focus on customer satisfaction. Most recently, he served as head of Cessna’s ten company-owned service facilities and holds both a bachelor and master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Mr. Younger also holds an Aircraft Maintenance Technician degree from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“Stan's skills and experience will prove invaluable as we continue to accelerate our efforts to create an industry-leading service centre network worldwide. I welcome him to the Bombardier team,” said Éric Martel, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. “Michael has been instrumental in elevating the Bombardier Service Centre network to the next level. I wish to thank him for the passion and drive he has brought to the job and for his valuable contributions in the upcoming months leading to his official retirement."
Mr. McQuay joined Bombardier in 2001 as General Manager and Vice President of Operations, Bombardier Flexjet, after already having served more than 30 years in the aviation industry. He then went on to become President of Bombardier Flexjet and was appointed to his current role at the helm of the Service Centre network in May 2008, where he led the improvement of Bombardier’s maintenance services.
Under Mr. McQuay’s leadership, Bombardier’s maintenance network has grown to now feature 65 maintenance facilities in 27 countries, including nine wholly owned service centres and authorized service facilities for commercial and business aircraft. During his tenure, Mr. McQuay was instrumental in expanding Bombardier’s wholly owned maintenance facility network to locations such as Macon, Georgia for regional airline customers and Amsterdam, Netherlands for business aircraft operators.
