April 2, 2013, Orlando-Sanford International Airport, Sanford, FL…StarPort, a Cambata Aviation International, LLC company, has appointed Joseph Doubleday as Director of Maintenance.
In making the announcement, Roscoe Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer of StarPort, said Doubleday will direct the day-to-day operations of the aircraft maintenance business including avionics overhaul and repair refurbishment and paint.
Before joining StarPort, Doubleday held several positions of increasing responsibility with the Federal Aviation Administration during a 27 year career. Most recently he served as Manager of the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Group at the FAA facility in Oklahoma City, OK. His duties included serving as Accountable Manager of a CFR Part 145 certificated repair station with Class 3 and 4 airframe ratings. Operating as a government fee-for-service franchise, the enterprise employed more than 300 people at five locations.
Additionally, Doubleday served as holder of an Organization Delegation Authorization (ODA) with STC and MRA authority.
Doubleday holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and served eight years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and technical instructor.
