Gulfstream Names James Liang Product Support Sales Manager for Asia

He is based at the Gulfstream Product Support Asia office in Hong Kong and reports to Jeff Hill, director, International Product Support Sales.

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 15, 2013 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has appointed longtime company employee James Liang as a regional sales manager for Product Support Sales in Asia. He is based at the Gulfstream Product Support Asia office in Hong Kong and reports to Jeff Hill, director, International Product Support Sales.

Liang is responsible for maintenance and avionics sales in the Asia-Pacific region, which has grown from 27 Gulfstream operators in 2001 to more than 200 today. For the past three years, Liang was Gulfstream’s Hong Kong-based manager for parts and materials in Asia. In that position, he managed more than $56 million in inventory at warehouses in Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore. He also was responsible for overseeing parts distribution in the region. Materials lead Ka Ming Lau will assume Liang’s responsibilities.

Before relocating to Hong Kong, Liang held multiple positions at Gulfstream’s service center in Long Beach, Calif., including senior avionics technician from March 2008 to January 2010.
Liang earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from California State University at Fullerton. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Lau holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Davis and a master’s degree in automotive engineering design from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Before joining Gulfstream in February 2013, Lau was a logistics specialist for Gulfstream authorized warranty facility and parts consignment partner Metrojet Ltd. in Hong Kong, where he oversaw and managed the movement of Gulfstream parts and materials in Hong Kong and Beijing.
