StandardAero Signs Partnership Agreement with Airteam in South Africa
TEMPE, Ariz. – September 15, 2014 – StandardAero and Airteam (Pty) Ltd, of Pretoria, South Africa, have signed a partnership agreement to provide PT6 engine maintenance through a co-branded foothold in the Southern African region.
The new partnership is expected to be fully up and running by the end of September, 2014 and all engine services will be performed at either Airteam’s Wonderboom Airport Facility or at StandardAero’s Tilburg, Netherlands or Winnipeg, Canada facilities.
Airteam (Pty) Ltd is an aviation company that specializes in contract flying throughout the world. Airteam performs its own aircraft maintenance, third party maintenance, aircraft sales as well as ad hoc local charters. The company, along with its maintenance department, also provides a parts supply business that imports and supplies aircraft parts throughout Southern Africa. Airteam is based at the Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria, South Africa.
“StandardAero is reestablishing itself in the Southern African market place,” said Marc Wittingen, Director of EMEA Region Sales, for StandardAero’s Airlines & Fleets business unit. “Our partner will provide maintenance manual workscopes in region and StandardAero will provide overhaul services at our facilities in Winnipeg, Canada.”
Airteam is an established leader in airframe maintenance and StandardAero is a leading engine maintenance provider. Together, in partnership, the two companies will provide total aircraft maintenance support -- bringing the best of both worlds to customers.
“For Airteam, this is an important step and it sets us apart from other service providers in Southern Africa,” said Chris Briers, Chief Executive Officer at Airteam.
