Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC Wins CommutAir Contract
Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC (APS, www.aircraftpropeller.com, Lake Zurich, IL), one of the oldest, largest and leading commercial propeller Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs), has won a major contract from CommutAir (www.flycommutair.com, North Olmstead, OH), operators of the largest Dash-8 Q200 fleet in the world, serving over 1.4 million passengers annually with over 150 flights a day to more than 25 cities in the United States and Canada. APS will be providing its comprehensive MRO services on CommutAir’s UTC propeller assemblies, including blades, hubs, actuators and other components. Additionally, APS will be a resource to CommutAir for components, drawing both on its in-house surplus components inventory and by accessing components through its partner network. The contract, which APS won in a competitive bid, runs three years with an option for two more years.
APS has been providing its testing, repair and overhaul services on CommutAir’s UTC propellers for many years. Dennis Santare, APS Vice President of Sales and Marketing noted that the CommutAir fleet is now up for an overhaul cycle, which makes the timing of the new agreement particularly important to both companies.
“Our cost-competitiveness, flexibility, reputation and willingness to be creative with our offer to match CommutAir’s business model as a regional carrier were all key in APS’ winning the CommutAir contract,” said Santare.
He added, “APS’ strategy is to be the most customer-engaged MRO in the industry offering the best overall customer solutions. This win is a great validation of that approach. We count CommutAir as ‘one of our airlines,’ and have put people, processes, and tools in place to ensure we are 100% supportive of their operations.” For more information, visit: www.aircraftpropeller.com or contact: 847-541-1133 (USA).
