Hahn Airport, December 1, 2015. HAITEC welcomed new customer Icelandair to Hahn Airport for the first of several nose-to-tail B757 C-Checks. Iceland has become a significant and strategic growth market for HAITEC as the MRO provides maintenance services to the three major airlines Air Atlanta Icelandic, WOW Air and now Icelandair.
Iceland’s unique geographical location midway between Northern Europe and the Eastern coast of the USA is the basis for Icelandair’s strategy. With a growing fleet of currently 24x B757 and 2x B767 aircraft, Icelandair continues to record double-digit growth in number of passengers. “Their progress is simply quite astonishing,” states Frank Rott, CEO at HAITEC. ”Our long-term ambition is to be part of the ongoing Icelandair success story.”
HAITEC has firmly set its course for the future. In response to continuing global demand for MRO services and opportunities, HAITEC is in the midst of implementing a significant investment plan by expanding its hangar capacities. The new 17.000 sqm hangar facilities are expected to be operational in summer 2016, allowing HAITEC to more than double its slot availability and to position itself as Europe’s leading, independent MRO.
“This expansion was inevitable as our customer base is growing continuously and we need additional hangar space to efficiently satisfy our customers’ demands,” states Rott. “We are delighted that not only Icelandair and WOW Air but also Danish Air Transport (DAT), Jet Time, Gazpromavia, Privilege Style, Midroc Aviation and Iraqi Airways selected HAITEC as a new MRO partner in 2015. We hope to establish long-term relationships with each of them as we continue to extend our global reach and diversify our customer base well into the future,” concludes Rott.
