Boeing Shanghai Extends Agreement with Thomas Cook Group Airlines
SHANGHAI, Oct. 18, 2016 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) today announced a new long-term agreement with Thomas Cook Group Airlines for heavy maintenance checks on the airline group’s entire Boeing 767 fleet.
Boeing Shanghai will perform C-checks on the 767s at its facility at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Work on the fleet began in September.
The contract comes on the heels of the successful completion of C-checks for the airline in 2015 and 2016. A C-check is an extensive check of the airplane's systems and components that can require several days to perform.
“We have been very pleased with the heavy maintenance work Boeing Shanghai delivered to us in the past year,” says Bernd Bechtel, Head of Maintenance Procurement of Thomas Cook Group Airlines. “The expansion of our long-term cooperation with Boeing Shanghai is a testament to our continued satisfaction with the value and service Boeing provides. This new contract will enhance the reliability and cost effectiveness of the Thomas Cook Group Airlines operation.”
“Thomas Cook Group Airlines is a valued customer and we are grateful for their enduring confidence in our maintenance services,” said Dermot Swan, CEO of Boeing Shanghai. “We look forward to continuing to provide them with the high-quality and reliable services they have come to expect.”
