It has been two years since the establishment of new Ameco in June 2015. Looking back to the past two years, the joint venture sees a booming growth in market expansion and capability development.
More global market business
Ameco is dedicated to developing the global market for decades. Now Ameco has made cooperation with hundreds of customers worldwide for providing them with the high-quality and comprehensive MRO services ranging from aircraft, engine, component, landing gear, VIP and business jet to line maintenance.
For airframe overhaul, Ameco adds the new customers from the countries and areas such as German, Czech, Russia/CIS, Turkey, Iraq and Hong Kong, etc. For line maintenance, the maintenance network has covered ten cities in China, making the new international customers of Ameco a fast growth in these cities such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Guiyang in the past two years. For engine overhaul, Ameco expands the new MRO service mode to meet the customer demand on products and services.

New capability development
After the integration, Ameco takes the advantage of the integrated resources to expand the product portfolio, especially the new capability development on the new-generation aircraft. In future, Ameco will keep offering the one-stop maintenance service covering the products from airframe, engine, component, landing gear, VIP and business jet to line maintenance for the customers from all over the world.
For airframe overhaul, Ameco continues to develop the new capabilities on the new-generation aircraft. Meanwhile, Ameco is elevating the modification and retrofit capabilities, such as the parallel production lines for the passenger-to-freighter conversion on Boeing 757s. Besides, Ameco plans to develop the narrow-body aircraft passenger-to-freighter capability. In the past two years, Ameco is rapidly growing its aircraft-related component capability. Ameco now enables the repair work on the thrust reversers for V2500-V5, CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, CFM56-3 and Trent 700. Ameco plans for the investment on a new aircraft-related component workshop.
For engine overhaul, Ameco follows the market trend to make the cooperation with OEMs. Meanwhile, the V2500-A5 engine overhaul business sees a rapid growth. Ameco has signed long-term maintenance agreement with Ethiopian Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and SF Airlines on PW4000 and RB211 engine overhaul.
For component and landing gear, Ameco plans to build up Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 generator capabilities, as well as, further expands the Power by the Hour (PBH) services. Ameco’s landing gear products cover Airbus A320 family, Airbus A330 and Boeing 737NG, 737CL and 747-400. A new landing gear overhaul capability is in preparation.
For VIP and business jet, Ameco is capable of providing completions on large-scale business jets, such as Airbus A330, Boeing 737/747 and 747 new generation aircraft. Ameco will continue the new capability development by the new workshop investment in the coming years, to meet the completion demand of the wide-body aircraft. In addition to completion, Ameco’s market share of business jets maintenance keeps growing as well. In January of 2017, Ameco completed China’s first 6C-check on an A319 business jet. As a CAAC Designated Modification Design Organization Representative (DMDOR), Ameco plans to get the approvals of other airworthiness authorities in 2017 for market expansion.
Looking to the future, Ameco aims to fast develop its product competitiveness and comprehensive maintenance services in line with its strategy of being the leading MRO in global aviation.
