Advantage Aviation Technologies (AAT) Ownership Announces Continued Growth, Brand Recognition and Expansion.
November 2015 Dallas, Texas. Advantage Aviation Technologies (AAT) ownership, comprised of Chairman/Owner, Debbie MacDonald and CEO, David MacDonald, announce the achievement of the company’s Phase 1 milestone goals, initiated to develop a recognized, world class solutions, based manufacturing and repair company of aviation-aerospace products and services.
For over 20 years, the MacDonald team developed a customer concentric aviation management, charter, and maintenance enterprise, which includes Dallas based Regal Aviation - a premier full service FBO.
With direct exposure to associated aircraft maintenance quality and service gaps, the MacDonald’s realized an opportunity to develop and innovate a customer focused aviation Solutions Company.
AAT was founded in 1991. Vitesse (formerly TXI) was acquired in 2010. In 2011 both companies were merged together as one full service entity and relocated to the 65,000 square foot facility located at 201 Regal Row where AAT conducts operations today.
Initial focus for AAT was the development of unique, cost saving repairs, quick turn landing gear overhaul and repair solutions that reduced down time and costs to both business aviation and commercial operators.
“We had the foundation in place to build an exceptional aviation services company,” stated Debbie MacDonald, Owner and Chairman of AAT. “The next step in our evolution was to build a solid reputation with leading operators, secure the credentials required in the aviation-aerospace industry, and to build the visibility of our expertise.”
Today’s AAT comprises modern machinery, repair equipment, skilled workforce talent, centrally located facilities and a complimentary union of aircraft components - landing gear repair/overhaul and product development.
Over the next 8 years, AAT developed solid relationships with Southwest Airlines, Gulfstream, Bombardier, ATS, AgustaWestland and other high profile aviation OEMs, MROs and operators.
AAT holds AS9110 & ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management, EASA, C.A.S.E. 1-A registration, FAA Certified Repair Station #GQRR443L and PMA certifications. AATs’ aviation associations include ARSA Aeronautical Repair Station Association, Gulfstream supplier approval, certified welding Ops Specs mil-i-45208, and Level 2 and 3 NDT services.
“Our staff is the core of our business here,” says David MacDonald, CEO of AAT. “Our team has the expertise and mindset to develop high quality, state of art, and innovative repairs on time. This approach has built our reputation as an innovator in the industry.”
Beginning in 2015, the next phase of AATs evolution included integration of Dennis Moore as president, pro-active marketing exposure, Lean and Six Sigma inclusion, and facility/machinery investment. AAT currently utilizes a 65,000 square foot facility that houses CNC machinery, paint, composite, welding, landing gear, NDT, fabrication, engineering and customer services departments.
AAT provides multiple repairs and innovative designs, including 737 components with unique repairs designed to provide operators and MROs robust, cost saving, high quality, components.
“We are committed to the vision we initiated a number of years ago,” stated Debbie MacDonald. “Hard work, talent and a focus on superior customer service is the goal. Much of what David and I used to build Regal Aviation is in practice today.”
Since 1991, Advantage Aviation Technologies specializes in full service OEM manufacturing solutions, including repair development, precision welding, landing gear - hydraulic overhaul, AOG services, composite repair, heat treat and NDT services for the Aviation and Aerospace Industries.
