Gibraltar, 16 April 2018 – WheelTug plc, the innovative aircraft e-taxi company, are pleased to announce the signing of a slot agreement for 15 Boeing 737NG and Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The agreement, with a German airline that chooses not to disclose its identity at this time, brings the total number of WheelTug systems reserved by airlines to 1,072 across more than 20 airlines worldwide. The WheelTug system consists of high-performance electric motors installed in the nose gear wheels of an aircraft.
These motors provide full mobility and enhanced autonomy to an aircraft on the ground. Pilots will use WheelTug to conduct pushback/wheelback and taxi operations without using tow tractors or the aircraft's jet engines. With WheelTug systems, an airline can improve the efficiency and reliability of its ground operations, thereby leading to lower costs and increased fleet utilization.
WheelTug CEO Isaiah Cox said "Following the recent signings of SunExpress and Kenya Airways, we at WheelTug are pleased to welcome our third airline of the year to our roster. This signing represents clear momentum as we continue to pursue certification for Boeing 737NG aircraft."For more visit http://www.wheeltug.gi.
