The associated Federal Aviation Association (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station Certificate authorizes Sherpa Air to perform specialized aircraft maintenance under safety and compliance standards.

Sherpa Air announces the purchase of Crucial Aero LLC.

Established in 2015, Crucial Aero was an eastern regional subsidiary of Crucial MRO, which continues its independent operations and remains based in Southern Illinois.

Crucial Aero and the associated Federal Aviation Association (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station Certificate have been transferred to Sherpa Air’s Georgetown Base of Operations.

This certification, granted by the FAA, authorizes Sherpa Air to perform specialized aircraft maintenance under safety and compliance standards.

Sherpa Air can now provide comprehensive maintenance solutions in the 30,000-square-foot hangar, including:

  • Airframe and Powerplant inspections and repairs
  • Avionics upgrades and installations
  • Component overhauls and modifications
  • Preventative maintenance and regulatory compliance checks

Our Sherpas are fiercely dedicated to building customer trust by continually demonstrating our commitment to integrity, selfless service, and superior quality. This acquisition reinforces that commitment. Our transition of the FAA Part 145 Repair Station to our base of operations, alongside our FAA Part 135 Air Carrier, allows Sherpa Air to offer a comprehensive and efficient aviation solution for aircraft owners who value the benefits of operating and maintaining their aircraft under one roof,” said Paul Handakas, president of Sherpa Air.

Handakas added, “This investment also reaffirms Sherpa’s commitment to continue our business expansion in the Georgetown, SC community.”

With new equipment and a skilled team of technicians, the Georgetown facility will be able to serve commercial operators and private jet owners.
