Spectrum Aeromed Equips AW139 for Remote Ornge Base in Moosonee
(FARGO, ND. October 27, 2016) —Spectrum Aeromed announced this week that the company’s medical interior was installed on an Augusta Westland AW139 for Ornge, the air ambulance service provider in the Canadian province of Ontario. The helicopter was deployed to a remote base located in Moosonee, Ontario Canada.
“This aircraft will serve a vital role in serving the community surrounding Moosonee,” said Anthony Sharp, Ornge Base Manager. “We are thrilled to have the system from Spectrum Aeromed in our 11th AW139. This will replace another older aircraft that previously served the James Bay region. Because of the extreme conditions it is also vital to have a rugged system that can endure the harsh environment. The Spectrum Aeromed system matched our needs.”
With winter approaching, Ornge was on a tight deadline for delivery. “Our engineering team and manufacturing team understands the sense of urgency on every project,” said Spectrum Aeromed Vice President and Account Executive Matthew Christenson. “Our internal production team and their AS9100 standards assured that not only did Ornge receive a well-made, rugged system for their air ambulance, but it also was produced on time.”
The newly equipped AW139 went into service this week with a Spectrum Aeromed articulating stretcher, three drawer medical cabinet and other medical equipment.
Spectrum Aeromed executives will be attending the National Business Aviation Association show next week in Orlando, Florida from November 1-3.
