Biman’s Contractual Staff Stage Demonstration for Permanent Jobs

To join the demonstration, a good number of the casual staff members who are in charge of ground handling at Dhaka airport left their stations, which disrupted baggage dispatch and caused passengers inconvenience, sources at the airport said.

The contractual staff of Biman Bangladesh Airlines staged a demonstration on Thursday demanding that their jobs be made permanent.

About 500 contractual – or casual – staff members employed by the national flag carrier gathered in front of the Biman headquarters in Kurmitola, Dhaka to press home their demand.

To join the demonstration – organized by Biman Workers’ Association (CBA) –  a good number of the casual staff members who are in charge of ground handling at Dhaka airport left their stations around 10am, which disrupted baggage dispatch and caused passengers inconvenience, sources at the airport said.
