Dusseldorf (dpa) - An aeroplane had to be evacuated at the airport in the German city of Dusseldorf due to a burning tyre.
An airport employee discovered the burning tyre when the plane belonging to the Turkish airline Pegasus landed on Saturday afternoon, a spokesman for Dusseldorf airport said.
The pilot then instructed the 163 occupants to leave the plane for safety via the emergency slides.
By the time the fire brigade arrived, no more flames were found, and all the passengers were unharmed.
Why the tyre caught fire was initially unclear.
