Uzbekistan and Russia plan to create a joint low-coster and increase the number of mutual flights, Trend reports with reference to the Russian Ministry of Transport.
These issues were discussed at the second meeting of the subcommission on cooperation in transport, in the format of a videoconference. Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev and Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, Director of the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia (Rosaviation) Alexander Neradko participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed preparations for signing an agreement between the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia and the Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan on cooperation in airworthiness. They also raised the issue of the possibility of increasing the number of flights between the two countries and creating a Russian-Uzbek low-cost air carrier for passenger and cargo transportation.
Both sides exchanged information on preparations for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Transport of Russia and Uzbekistan, on the development of cooperation in transport education.
In addition, the two countries will continue to work on phased implementation of the Memorandum on Cooperation in Digital Transport Systems signed last year by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and RT-Invest Transport Systems LLC.
