A small fire broke out Tuesday morning on the tail end of a United Airlines plane parked at Logan Airport in Boston, a spokesperson for MassPort, the agency that runs the airport, said.
The fire began around 10 a.m. at the rear of the plane in its auxiliary power unit, according to spokesperson Jennifer Mehigan. The plane, parked at a gate at Terminal B, had no passengers on board at the time.
Emergency crews extinguished the fire, Mehigan said. No injuries were reported.
Video of the plane captured by WCVB showed some damage to the tail. Based on the shot, the aircraft can be identified as United Airlines flight 477, a Boeing 757. The flight, originally scheduled to depart Boston at 11:20 a.m. for San Francisco, was canceled, according to FlightAware
