Washington — Two of the largest travel booking software providers are cutting ties with Russian airline Aeroflot over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
US-based Sabre said it had terminated its distribution agreement with Aeroflot and would immediately remove Aeroflot flight content from its global distribution system used across the world.
"We are taking a stand against this military conflict. We are complying, and will continue to comply, with sanctions imposed against Russia," chief executive Sean Menke said in a statement.
The company would not rule out further action in response to the ongoing situation, Menke said.
Sabre, which has about 1,500 employees in Poland, had donated $1 million to the Polish Red Cross to help provide support to those seeking shelter in Poland.
Meanwhile, Spain's Amadeus IT Group announced it would stop any new planned commercial projects in Russia.
"We will not sign any new contracts in Russia and we continue to evaluate our existing portfolio of work in Russia in parallel," the company said in a statement.
"We can confirm that we have begun suspending the distribution of Aeroflot fares in our systems. At the same time, we continue to assess and evaluate the potential impact of international sanctions imposed on Russia and any counter-measures by Russia."
