More than 600 Flights Delayed at Denver for Severe Thunderstorms

More than 600 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport on Tuesday afternoon as weather forecasters predicted tornadoes, hail and severe thunderstorms in the metro region and Eastern Plains.

There were 666 delayed and 26 canceled flights at DIA as of 8:25 p.m., according to FlightAware. Arriving flights were delayed by an average of 1 hour and 7 minutes, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.

The airport is on a traffic management program because of thunderstorms, according to the FAA.
