Bahamasair Launches New Orlando-Freeport Service
Bahamasair has linked two popular destinations with the launch of new non-stop service between Orlando and Freeport. The inaugural flight landed at Orlando International Airport (MCO) at 11 a.m. June 22.
Seventy passengers arrived on one of Bahamasair's ATR aircraft. The airline purchased five of the twin-engine jets in November. This service will initially operate two days a week, on Wednesday and Saturday, but it's anticipated that as demand builds, the airline will increase frequency.
"Bahamasair's decision to launch new service at Orlando International is a testament to our long standing and successful 31-year relationship," said Frank Kruppenbacher, chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). "This new twice-weekly Freeport service will provide our passengers with options to yet another desirable international island destination."
