All Avianca, Avianca Brazil and Star Alliance member airlines operations, will be located within the same terminal T2 at RIOGaleão - Tom Jobim International Airport.
Starting June 30, all Avianca flights originating in Rio de Janeiro heading to Avianca’s Hubs in Lima and Bogota, will operate out of Terminal 2 (T2) at RIOGaleão - Tom Jobim International Airport.
Travelers originating in Lima and Bogota heading to Rio de Janeiro and other domestic destinations within Brazil will be also arriving at this terminal.
Relocating Avianca’s operations in this terminal, where Avianca Brazil and the rest of Star Alliance member airlines also operate, offers important benefits for travelers:
- Convenience: the airline adds convenience and comfort to its travelers experience offering new services to enjoy at Terminal 2, which opened a new extension called Pier Sul last May 23. Pier Sul covers an area of over 100 thousand square meters. It has 26 new boarding gates and offers travelers a new area of food and entertainment services.
- Connectivity: For Avianca’s travelers arriving at this terminal will become more functional for their trip, since it makes easier transfers to Avianca Brazil to and from domestic destinations within Brazil such as Brasilia, Salvador de Bahia, Porto Alegre, Florianopolis and Fortaleza. Also, passengers connecting with other Star Alliance member airlines heading to other destinations will benefit with seamless travel connections, since all Star Alliance member airlines will be within the same sector in T2.
