Lufthansa Commemorates Five Years of A380 Service to Houston

On Aug. 1, Lufthansa commemorates its fifth year of A380 service to Houston, Texas. Despite Lufthansa providing service from Frankfurt to Houston since 1985, the airline officially started operating the route with an Airbus A380 aircraft only five years ago. Now, travelers departing from Houston can experience A380 service exclusively with Lufthansa.

“We are thrilled to have reached the milestone five-year mark of A380 service to Houston. Throughout this time period, we were able to increase the capacity between Houston’s prevalent oil and energy business, Germany and the global energy market at large. Furthermore, by servicing this gateway with our A380 flagship, Houstonians are enjoying the aircraft’s premium products and the high level of Lufthansa customer service that we are known for,” said Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Vice President Airline Sales, The Americas.

In Lufthansa’s current summer schedule, effective until Oct. 29, seven weekly flights between Houston and Frankfurt are offered. In the winter schedule 2017/2018, the same amount of flights will remain. Flight times are approximately 11 hours between the two cities.
