Viva Aerobus, arrives to Charlotte with its new route between Charlotte and Cancun, starting operations on Feb. 16, offering one flight per week.
“We are excited to welcome VivaAerobus to Charlotte Douglas International Airport,” said Aviation Director/CEO Brent Cagle. “The low cost airline will offer a new option for our nearly 46 million passengers each year. We’re looking forward to their growth and success in the Charlotte region as the Airport continues to expand to meet passenger demand.”
The airline also announced the launch of another two new routes to the United States: Cancun – Cincinnati and Cancun – Nashville, which begin flights on Dec. 1, and Feb. 16, respectively.
Viva Aerobus will operate these new routes in strategic partnership with Vacation Express, one of the largest tour operators in the United States, who already has 30 years of experience transporting travelers to Mexico. Both companies will join their efforts to expand the flight alternatives so that Mexicans and Americans can enjoy travelling to both countries easily.
With these announcements, Viva Aerobus now offers, for the first time ever, more than 100 routes. In 2018, the airline has already announced 17 new routes and, by the end of the year, it will have launched 22 flights.
"Today we celebrate a great step in the expansion and diversification of our offer, reaching 101 routes: 89 domestic and 12 international to 43 destinations. We are proud of this uninterrupted expansion at unbeatable prices because, above all, it means real opportunities and savings so everyone can fly", said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.
Regarding its presence in Cancun, Viva Aerobus strengthens its service with these flight launches. It now flies to 20 destinations, 15 domestic (within Mexico) and 5 international, becoming the Mexican airline offering the largest number of destinations from this city. Moreover, the airline has increased by 16 percent the number of available seats to / from Cancun International Airport in the first 8 months of the year, compared to the same period of 2017. This is the result of its commitment to keeping connected one of the most important tourist enclaves of the country. By doing this, Viva Aerobus reaffirms its strategic role with this airport, making it even more attractive for the domestic and international markets thanks to its affordable ticket prices. "Like all of our routes, these flights are backed by a deep knowledge of travelers’ needs and preferences as well as the knowledge of the potential of the destinations we connect. In this way, we reaffirm our strategic role with Cancun, making it even more attractive for the international market thanks to our affordable ticket prices ", added Juan Carlos Zuazua.
In addition, starting in December, Viva Aerobus will once again operate charter flights between Mexico and the United States for tour operator Vacation Express, and between Mexico and Canada for Canadian tour operator Sunwing.
