Southwest Airlines Co. Announces Weekend Service to Tampa and Orlando from RIC

    New Tampa, Saturday and Sunday, and Returning Seasonal Orlando, Saturday, Flights Start August 10th.

    With the extension of its published flight schedule through October 1, 2019, Southwest Airlines Co. announced a new nonstop route, Richmond-Tampa, and the return of seasonal Richmond-Orlando service. Service between Richmond and Tampa will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, and Richmond-Orlando on Saturdays. Service to both destinations starts August 10th.

    “Richmond International Airport (RIC) welcomes new service from Southwest Airlines,” said Capital Region Airport Commission president and CEO Jon E. Mathiasen, AAE. “Tampa and Orlando are incredibly popular destinations for the region and we’re thrilled to have Southwest nonstop options to both.”

    These flights, offered in addition to Southwest’s thrice-daily Richmond-Atlanta service, are now available at Southwest.com.
