Hi Fly Phase in the Airbus A330neo

April 3, 2019

Hi Fly is receiving this year two brand new Airbus A330-900neo´s, becoming the first wet-leasing specialist in the world to operate this state-of-the-art, ultra-efficient aircraft to the benefit of its customers. Passengers will enjoy higher comfort levels in the Airspace signature brand new cabin designed and released recently by Airbus, while the airline itself will benefit financially from a significant lower consumption and carbon emissions.

The aircraft are powered by the highly efficient new generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the seventh iteration of the Trent family of large turbo-fan jet engines designed exclusively for the Airbus A330neo. A new optimized wing with Sharklets, specially designed for the Airbus family, further improves significantly its performance.

Speaking about the addition of this new type into the fleet, Hi Fly President, Paulo Mirpuri, said: “Hi Fly is preparing for a busy future and appreciates the exceptional efficiency of the A330neo, with its potential of 25 percent advantage in fuel burn per seat (compare to previous generation competitors’ aircraft) and outstanding comfort for passengers.

“We are confident that the aircraft’s improved technologies will bring the flying experience to a new level.

“The addition to our fleet of the A330neo aircraft is a momentous occasion for Hi Fly. We are the first wet-lease carrier to operate the new aircraft and we are happy to be able to offer these latest airliners to our customers."

The first of the A330neo entered into service with Hi Fly in February 2019 and the second aircraft has just been assembled in Toulouse and will be delivered to Hi Fly in the coming months.

The move to a more environmental friendly aircraft with reduced fuel-burn is in line with Hi Fly’s long commitment to sustainability practices.

The airline is on track to meet its commitment to fly plastic-free by the end of this year after it made industry history in a series of successful trial passenger flights last December, without a single-use plastic item on board.

The EASA and IOSA certified and FAA approved carrier operates a large fleet of Airbus aircraft, Airbus A320, A330, A340 and A380 families, exclusively available for wet lease worldwide.

Wet Lease - the supply of aircraft and crew, maintenance and insurance - is Hi Fly’s core business and has been developed with unmatched operational expertise over the last 15 years.
