“We are proud to continue expanding our network as we bring even more visitors to Grand Rapids and introduce our Grand Rapids-based customers to new travel destinations,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “Connecting Grand Rapids with both New Orleans and Jacksonville sets the stage for our customers to explore new areas and discover extraordinary experiences in very interesting, vibrant areas of the country.”
The new routes from Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) include:
1. New Orleans via Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) – beginning Oct. 3, 2019, with fares as low as $53 each way.* 2. Jacksonville via Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) – beginning Oct. 4, 2019, with fares as low as $54 each way.*
The new nonstop routes will operate twice weekly. With the addition of these routes, Allegiant will now serve 11 cities from Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com. “It is a perfect time of year for Allegiant to start new service to New Orleans and Jacksonville as the temperatures begin to cool down in the coming months, and West Michiganders begin to look at new and exciting places to visit,” said Gerald R. Ford International Airport President & CEO Tory Richardson. “We are thankful for the support we receive from the West Michigan community, and Allegiant – an airline that has doubled in growth since it came to the Ford Airport in 2009. New routes are one part of our continued growth, and we continue to work to add more air service by collaborating with our airline partners to add destinations where West Michigan travelers want to visit.”
