Malaysia Airlines Reopens Regional Golden Lounge at KL International Airport
Malaysia Airlines announces the reopening of its Regional Golden Lounge at KL International Airport (KLIA) beginning Jan. 17, 2022, after pandemic-associated restrictions brought an almost two-year halt to its operations. This move follows the recent reopening of the airline’s Domestic Golden Lounge, with its Satellite Golden Lounge soon to follow suit as demand for travel continues to rise.
The reopening of the airline’s Regional Golden Lounge also marks the reimplementation of buffet-style serving, offering convenience for guests to browse and indulge in a diverse range of local and western delicacies to fuel up before proceeding to their flight.
In anticipation of the upcoming Chinese New Year festivity, guests can indulge in a specially curated lineup of delicious festive dishes which will be served from Jan. 27 to 2 Feb. 2. Among the meals to look forward to includes braised chicken with shitake mushroom, special sauce fried rice, snow fungus sweet soup and sweet mandarin oranges. To elevate the festive mood further, a traditional Yee Sang can be enjoyed by guests during dinner on Jan. 31, 2022. The Regional Golden Lounge is located at Gate H, Level 4, Contact Pier and will operate from 5:00am until midnight daily, subject to flight schedules.
Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Malaysia Airlines Lau Yin May said, "We are thrilled as the reopening of our Regional Golden Lounge not only allows our guests to enjoy its excellent service offerings once again, but it also signifies growth in confidence and demand for air travel.
"Whilst the pandemic is not yet over, we want to ensure our passengers experience a safe and convenient travel journey with Malaysia Airlines through our multifarious on-ground and onboard offerings, anchored upon safety as the top priority. Malaysia Airlines implements the highest safety and hygiene standards across all end-to-end consumer touchpoints – beginning from the check-in counters, lounges, onboard our flights and through to the point of arrival, in line with our recently launched MHFlySafe campaign. In doing so, we aim to maintain customers’ trust so they can continue to #FlyConfidently with us and experience the best of Malaysian Hospitality throughout their travel journey.”
To ensure safe and seamless dining experience, the lounge will follow stringent health and safety measures including entry to individuals with low-risk health status on the MySejahtera application, temperature screenings, mandatory use of face masks and disposable gloves at the buffet area, regular sanitization of common areas, among others. The lounge will also operate at a maximum capacity of 140 passengers at one time to avoid congestion within the given area. Guests are reminded to follow the guidelines to ensure their safety and those around them.
Malaysia Airlines received a 7-star rating for COVID-19 health and safety measures from Airline Ratings and is a member of Travel Safe Alliance Malaysia, strengthening its commitment to ensuring safe and seamless travel by adopting safety and hygiene excellence on-ground and on board their flights.
