Southern Returns to Hyannis with 26 Weekly Flights to Nantucket
Southern Airways Express, the fastest-growing commuter airline in America, has returned Hyannis, Massachusetts to the airline’s ever-growing route map with four-times daily service to Nantucket beginning June 16.
With estimated flight times of around 20-minutes each way, Southern’s “island-hopper” service is a perfect alternative to other commuter options.
“This is perfect timing for Southern Airways flights to begin again at Cape Cod Gateway Airport,” said Katie Servis, airport manager. “This will provide fast and easy air transportation between Nantucket and Hyannis for visitors, residents, and business travelers – just in time for the busy summer season.”
The flights will operate with two pilots on the roomy and quiet Cessna Grand Caravan, a turboprop aircraft that features large windows, new interiors, and plenty of cargo space. One-way fares begin at just $99. Tickets are on sale now at iFlySouthern.com.
“While being one of the largest commuter airlines in the country, we are also nimble enough to pivot quickly and step-in when demand is not being met,” said Mark Cestari, Southern’s chief commercial officer. “Countless businesses and individuals have reached out to us in the last week asking for the increased service. We are fortunate that we have the ability to immediately serve the community.”
Southern was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 2013 and now serves 44 cities from Nantucket, Massachusetts to Honolulu. Southern has consistently ranked as one of the most reliable and on-time airlines in the country. In 2021, excluding weather, Southern completed 99.3% of its nearly 70,000 scheduled flights.
