Avelo Airlines Announces Three New Nonstop Routes From Fort Myers

Aug. 25, 2022

Avelo Airlines announced Thursday, August 25, three new routes from Fort Myers via Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW): Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; and two cities in Michigan: Kalamazoo and Lansing. Introductory one-way fares from RSW — starting at $69* are available at AveloAir.com.

Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said, “We continue to show our commitment to RSW and with these three new routes. These routes will not only allow Southwest Florida residents the opportunity to visit new destinations not currently flown from RSW but will also allow more people to visit Fort Myers and its surrounding areas and contribute to economic spending. With Avelo’s affordable and convenient fares, it’s the best way to continue to inspire travel.”

“We are excited that Avelo Airlines plans to start service from Southwest Florida International Airport to three new cities this November,” said Ben Siegel, CPA, C.M., executive director, Lee County Port Authority. “Nonstop flights to Kalamazoo, Michigan (AZO) will be a first for RSW and we also look forward to having service to Lansing, Michigan (LAN) and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (RDU), both popular travel destinations that have not been served recently from Fort Myers. We are extremely pleased to see Avelo expanding their network in Southwest Florida and giving more travel options to our community.”

The new routes will operate on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. These routes will bring Avelo’s total number of cities from RSW to four, joining Connecticut’s most convenient airport — Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).
