RAC Launches Advanced Digital Platform to Manage Operations at King Khalid International Airport
Today GACA’s president, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, launched KKIA’s advanced digital platform “OFOQ”, designed and developed in cooperation with ADB SAFEGATE. The launch comes as part of RAC’s digital transformation efforts in line with the broader objectives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become a global leader of the digital economy.
OFOQ acts as a central database for all operational information generated by the airport’s various data sources, it will allow RAC to take full control of all operations across its facilities, also enabling proactive and data-driven decision-making measures, helping to improve planning processes and disruption management.
Among OFOQ features, the Airport Resource Management System will enable the team to automatically control and schedule airport assets such as aircraft parking, check-in counters, passenger boarding gates and baggage belts/carousels. Moreover, the platform features a Flight Information Display System (FIDS) which provides accurate and efficient flight-related data in a real-time environment.
Commenting on the launch of OFOQ, the CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, highlighted the company’s commitment to digitalization, to ensure optimum operational efficiency, sustainability and to enhance the KKIA passenger experience. Engineer Al-Maghlouth commended the efforts of the team for realizing KKIA’s vision of digital transformation.
RAC's ICT general manager, Mohammed S.
