DULLES, VA– M.C. Dean, Inc., the nation’s leading engineering and technology service firm for mission-critical systems and facilities, recently teamed with the Hensel Phelps Construction Company to win a $44 million contract for the B/C Concourse Connector and Security Checkpoint Project at the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport in Baltimore, Maryland.
The highly visible project includes a major renovation for the B to C Concourse Connector. The work consists of the renovation and expansion of the existing B and C Terminals and the Terminal Connector to accommodate the recent merger of BWI’s two largest carriers, Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a new nine-lane passenger security checkpoint and an airside passenger connector between Terminals B & C to accommodate increased passenger volume. It will be the largest facility improvement project at BWI since the Southwest Airlines Terminal opened in 2005.
M.C. Dean will use its extensive experience gained from recently completing the Dulles Airport Project, whereby the firm helped facilitate the logistics needed to complete the project without impacting critical airport operations and security.
