AirIT Announces That The Turks And Caicos Islands Airport Authority (TCIAA) Has Chosen AirIT’s Advanced Platform For Passenger Processing and Intelligent Display System Technology For The Providenciales International Airport

Oct. 10, 2013

September 18, 2013, Orlando, FL – AirIT, the leading provider of innovative information technology products and services to the air transportation industry, today announced it will deliver its advanced platform to run its EASE™ shared use passenger processing and Flight and Advertising Display System (FIDS/ADS) products at the Providenciales International Airport (PLS).

As a part of the airport’s facility expansion efforts which will nearly double the size of the current passenger terminal, TCIAA has chosen AirIT’s advanced platform to employ the EASE™ virtualized passenger processing technology in order to provide the shared use of facility resources, allowing carriers to utilize any ticket counter/gate position at any time. AirIT’s Extended Airline System Environment (EASE™) is an industry leading passenger processing software application that delivers a virtualized ‘open’ technology, providing the ability for airlines to utilize their native passenger processing applications further reducing the time and cost of deployment and support.

Additionally, utilizing the AirIT advanced technology platform, AirIT will also implement its Intelligent Display System (IDS) technology, which will deliver dynamic gate and ticket counter signage capabilities, including Flight/Gate/Baggage Information Display (FIDS/GIDS/BIDS), ensuring comprehensive airline brand delivery at PLS while also providing the opportunity for the airport to display advertising content in the effort to generate additional non-aeronautical revenue.

Comments Chris Keller, AirIT President and COO, “We are extremely pleased to add Providenciales International Airport to the growing list of airports utilizing our contemporary shared use passenger processing and Intelligent Display System (IDS) technology. The greatest benefit for our airport and airline partners is that our advanced technology platform is built on an ‘open’ architecture, allowing for seamless integration with additional AirIT technology as well as that of any third party system provider.”

TCIAA’s Chief Executive Officer, John T. Smith, adds, "The Airports Authority is pleased to have AirIT as partners in the development of our ‘Gateway Airport’, Providenciales International’s, terminal extension phase. We believe in engaging and working with partners who share similar innovative solutions that enhance our passengers’ experiences. We see AirIT as such a partner."
