Rectrix Aviation announced that it is has received authorization by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to fly its charter jet fleet into and out of Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA).

Concord, MA (February 1, 2018) - Rectrix Aviation announced that it is has received authorization by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to fly its charter jet fleet into and out of Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). Only a select number of general aviation operators nationwide hold this distinction, due to the strict security measures required by federal regulators for all aircraft, crews and passengers using the DCA airport. This designation follows the earlier TSA approval of Rectrix Aerodrome Centers at L.G. Hanscom Field Airport in Bedford, MA (BED) and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) as permitted departure gateways for general and corporate aviation flights to DCA.

“Washington, D.C. is a major daily business destination and there is not a more convenient airport in the D.C. area than Reagan National because of its proximity to federal offices, the White House and the U.S. Capitol,” said Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley. “We are proud to now make available our fleet of Bombardier Challengers and Learjets to customers in need of private aircraft flexibility and direct access to Washington, D.C. We look forward to providing them with our unrivaled Rectrix customer service from the moment they enter our Aerodrome Center until they de-plane our aircraft in Washington.”

TSA security protocols were established after September 11, 2001. Only specific gateway airports, certain commercial airline carriers and even smaller group of private plane companies have met the security qualifications required to have access the DCA airport.
